The US Team
Aguipade’s work in the U.S. consists principally of raising money and donations of school equipment. A dedicated group of volunteers in Colorado and New Hampshire are constantly seeking school supplies, equipment for adult vocational classes and money. We also are blessed with a network of supporters who keep an eye our for school equipment, many of whom are members of a pair of churches in Parker, Colorado – Redeemer Presbyterian and Hilltop United Church of Christ, and Merrimack Christian Church in New Hampshire. A cargo container is periodically secured (cost is approximately $8,000) to ship equipment to Bissau. We always can use more volunteers.
Buzz and Shirley Bowers, retired teachers, have provided creative talents, educational experience and tireless dedication to assist in all of Aguipade’s efforts.
Clyde D’Arcy, a licensed veterinarian, brings knowledge of medicine and tropical diseases with commitment and dedication.
Mary Felker, a teacher, gives ideas, educational talent, perseverance and a big storage barn for storing donated school equipment.
Brad Parkhurst, a New Hampshire retiree, raises funds and contributes wisdom. Brad was instrumental in bringing Spencer Gomes to the U.S.
Pam Thompson, a personal trainer, contributes high energy, boundless enthusiasm and tons of creative talent to support Aguipde’s development efforts.
Mark Willoughby, a technology executive, has directed Aguipade’s efforts in the U.S. since its formation.
